Fledgling occultist Onyx and a group of worshipers attend a once-in-a-lifetime ritual at their idol BARTOK THE GREAT'S mansion. Based on the viral internet character Onyx the Fortuitous and partially funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign, Onyx premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2023 to rave reviews.

Onyx is a charming comedy horror film packed with 80s & 90s nostalgia. Oh and puppet monsters. I dunno!

Outstanding Graphic Design and Art Direction

Blood Road follows the journey of ultra-endurance mountain bike athlete Rebecca Rusch and her Vietnamese riding partner, Huyen Nguyen, as they pedal 1,200 miles along the infamous Ho Chi Minh Trail through the dense jungles of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Their goal: to reach the crash site and final resting place of Rebecca’s father, a U.S. Air Force pilot shot down over Laos some 40 years earlier.

During this poignant voyage of self discovery, the women push their bodies to the limit while learning more about the historic ‘Blood Road’ they’re pedaling and how the Vietnam War shaped their lives in different ways.

When you shoot a truck commercial in the desert you make a bit of a mess, and commercials need to look perfect. SDM was hired to remove all of the tracks left from days of shooting, remove crew and stunt gear, create beautiful blue skies, and general clean up to make everything look perfect.

On March 20, the third (and final) supermoon of 2019 rose over Los Angeles and the Red Bull Air Force were mistaken for the 'human meteor'. News broke of the 'invasion' as they flew over the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown hotel to celebrate.

Awaken is a documentary film exploring humanity's relationship with technology and with the natural world. Shot over a 5-year period in more than 30 countries, the film pioneers new timelapse, time-dilation, underwater, and aerial cinematography techniques to give audiences new eyes with which to see our world. AWAKEN is a celebration of the spirit of life, an exploration of the Earth, and an ode to the Cosmos.

Jeremy Hunt was brought on to help develop the post production pipeline needed to bring Awaken to the screen. SDM also provided VFX and finishing services.

Jeremy Hunt and SDM were brought on to handle the finishing and visual effects work, including prepping for a Dolby Vision grade. In addition to the extensive work completed for the feature film, SDM was tasked with finishing and color correcting all of the home release bonus content

The latest insanity from Red Bull Media House is a visually stunning piece that features eight disciplines of aerial sports converging over the Fisher Towers in Moab, Utah. SDM was tasked with bringing everything into a cohesive visual package. The challenge of combining multiple camera formats shot in both spherical and anamorphic combined with VFX work (don’t worry, everything presented is real) creates a seamless viewing experience.

SDM also created a 6K 7:1 formatted version for the new Barco Escape projection format. Three screens wrap around the audience for a truly unique experience.

Red Bull Media House put together this amazing piece to visually breakdown some of the most difficult tricks in the sport of freestyle skiing. SDM was tasked with creating a look that separated the normal world from the hyper-real world of super slow motion and arial photography. Jeremy here. This is a video that I directed with Bruce back in the days after 405 when we owned a shop called Strange Engine. A bit of trivia: In 405 I was wearing a Supersuckers hat (was and still am a big fan.) Later we were hired to direct a PSA in Seattle and it tuned out the creative director knew the band, so he got me tickets. Eddie and Ron recognized me at the show and we struck up a friendship. Bruce and I were looking for a new project to work on and this is the result.
